Position Overview:
The Music Teacher will have the unique opportunity to inspire and educate students in Music. Our ideal candidate is a passionate educator with a strong background in Music/Choir and the ability to adapt to various teaching levels and styles. All Chesterton Academy teachers are employed at-will and operate as professionals within the guidelines established by the Board of Directors, Mission, Vision, and Philosophy of Chesterton Academy of Wichita Falls.

Responsibilities:
* Implement lesson plans embodying classical teaching principles provided by the Chesterton Schools Network (CSN)
* Leads rehearsals for music programs
* Teaches music history as part of the music course using lesson plans provided by CSN
* Build appropriate relationships with the students that develops a passion for learning and a love for God and others
* Effectively assess the academic, moral, and spiritual growth of the students
* Provide extra tutoring for any student struggling with a subject or skill
* Demonstrate effective classroom management skills
* Compile and maintain all reports, grades, and documents required for student records
* Communicate frequently with students and their parents
* Create a welcoming, nurturing, and age-appropriate classroom environment
* Diligently enforce all school policies

Requirements
* Practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic secondary education (Preferred)
* Bachelor's Degree in Music or a related field required with a strong knowledge of Catholic worship and liturgy. (Required)
* 2+ years teaching music in a classical school environment (Preferred)
* Strong proficiency and experience in playing the organ or piano at a professional level and proficient in conducting and in singing. (Preferred)
* Eclectic/versatile musical knowledge and styles including Catholic liturgical music, and traditional hymns
* Resilient and adaptable, possessing strong time management and organizational skills
* Committed to the mission of Chesterton Schools Network and the teachings of the Catholic Church
* A love for his/her subject matter and students
* An understanding of and adherence to Chesterton Academy's Mission, Philosophy of Education, and organizational culture
* Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to interface with students, parents, colleagues and administrators with grace, sensitivity, and flexibility
* The ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff and the school board
* A commitment to a lifestyle of learning
