The Relationship Manager (RM) position is responsible for the equity compensation relationship within the Wealth Management Client Segments division. They are responsible for working with the Channel Partners that support our Channel Sales clients. They must possess a strong working knowledge of client plans and how the plans are established within the Morgan Stanley system. This will require the candidate to be responsible for working with our Channel Partners to ensure the satisfaction of the service delivery for the corporate stock plan and ensure the Channel Partners are utilizing all the components of our services to enhance the efficiency of the delivery.
A successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, proven problem solving skills, a strong knowledge of equity compensation and ESPP plans, and an appreciation for the challenges that face todays administrators within the industry.
Primary Responsibilities May Include:
- Engage with internal teams on the Channel Partner playbook
- Conduct Channel Partner meetings, define timelines and project manage action steps of service model changes
- Interact with internal stakeholders, like CSM and Billing, to coordinate timing and critical steps to complete the service model change
- Will have engagement with direct clients who utilize channel partners where licensing is required as well as a small dedicated book.
- Provide weekly status reports through Channel Partner Tracker.
- Act as point of contact for the Channel Partners as it relates to platform and product add-on services (ex. Special Handling, blackout functionality, etc.)
- Collaborate with others to assist Channel Partners to ensure all clients receive timely responses
- Conduct regular business reviews with Channel Partners to share product trends and enhancements along with a review of the clients they support on the overall health of the relationships.
- Regular contact with Channel Partners to maintain a high level of personal interaction
- Monitor client satisfaction through internal benchmarks by inquiring with Channel Partners on Channel Sales clients’ level of satisfaction with the administration
- Promoting and sharing best practices from our products and the industry on how to improve service and execution
- Align Channel Partner requests and expectations with business needs and constraints while maintaining a positive relationship.
- When required, coordinate projects with the Channel Partner and internal team. Maintain and track open items log to ensures remediation for all items
- Engage with the various Morgan Stanley service support organizations to ensure awareness of key events for adequate support
- Keep open communications with internal business partners regarding plan events, open items, or key issues . that may impact overall strategic plans for the clients that the the Channel Partners support
- Maintain education of the industry and product by attending industry webcasts and Morgan Stanley promoted education forums; and share relevant information from the education sessions with the client base as applicable
- Work with all colleagues professionally and respectfully by sharing information and aiding in high volume times when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required along with 5-10 years of industry experience
- A strong understanding of the executive compensation, stock plan, and ESPP industries
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Organizational skills to track and maintain open issues for multiple projects.
- Ability to work under periods of extreme pressure with very tight time constraints, i.e. periods of unexpected high volume activity on major events or a designated project.
- Ability to make a case for difficult decisions and present to management.
- Ability identify problems and articulate the concern both verbally and in written form to clearly communicate the item to internal and external stakeholders needed for resolution.
- Comfortable in running a meeting and speaking in large groups
- Certified Equity Professional designation, EEO and Shareworks experience a strong plus.
- Appropriate securities licenses required (FINRA Series 7, and 63 or 66) or willingness to be obtained within 180 days of hire.
- A strong working knowledge of MS office products.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
