Community Affairs Operations Associate

This is an Associate position within our Community Affairs and Morgan Stanley Foundation team which is primarily responsible for the firm’s giving back activities, including direct employee engagement, overseeing the Firm’s charitable entities, orchestrating charitable giving and maintaining the Firm’s reputation around community issues. This role handles operational functions for the department including strategic support and management of large-scale projects and reports to the Operations Lead.

What you'll do in the role:
• Support the creation of Foundation financial statements and coordinate audit and tax deliverables, ensuring compliance with control processes.
• Assist in managing Community Affairs technology platforms (e.g., Bonterra, Benevity, E4E), in partnership with colleagues in Technology, Sourcing, and Legal.
• Collaborate with vendor to support Global Volunteer Month program, ensuring both site reliability and data accuracy.
• Facilitate Community Affairs compliance in alignment with Firm infrastructure and industry regulations.
• Support Matching Gifts program by working with vendor to facilitate monthly payments to nonprofit organizations and responding to employee inquiries.
• Assist in data collection, management, and reporting for department and programs, including year-end impact reporting and RFP responses.
• Respond to employee inquiries about Community Affairs and Morgan Stanley Foundation programs.
• Assist department Operations Officer with additional ad hoc projects.
What you'll bring to the role:
• Bachelor's degree with 4-7 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and a collaborative team player.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage time efficiently.
• Capable of working independently and making informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
• Proactive, analytical, and customer service-oriented.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with data management is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to learn and grow.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 80000 and 125000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
