You will:

  • Perform price verification of Japan Macro (Rates Trading and FXEM) inventories including vanilla/exotic IR/FX derivatives as a member of Asia (Macro) Valuation Control (VC) in Tokyo office

  • Collaborate with the other Global Macro VC members across the globe such as HK, Budapest, London and NY to consolidate/reconcile data and discuss standardized valuation methodologies.

  • Interact with Business Units, Market Risk Management, Legal Entity/Product Controllers and other stake holders to present mark review results and provide VC opinions to new product/significant transaction review committees.

  • Respond to queries from internal/external auditors and regulators.

  • Produce various valuation risk reports/documents including but not limited to periodic mark review reports and pricing model review documents.

You have:

  • Strong bachelor degree or above academic background in financial/quantitative major such as engineering, mathematics, physics, economics, or other relevant fields

  • 2-7 years of relevant experience in interest rate/FX derivatives

  • Good understanding of financial products and derivative pricing models

  • Excellent English communication skills

  • Willingness to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment

  • Team player mindset and ability to build strong human relationship

  • Programming skills and/or Japanese language not essential but plus

Team Profile: Morgan Stanley Valuation Control provide an independent valuation assessment across the entire spectrum of financial instruments, ranging from vanilla products to the most complex structured and derivative transactions. This process involves the certification of models and their valuation methodologies, testing for adherence to such methodologies, evaluating internal valuation marks against external benchmarks, identification and resolution of valuation discrepancies, and communicating a valuation assessment to senior trading and Finance management. The team is also involved in the continuous enhancements of the valuation control infrastructure with a view towards global and cross-product standardization.
