Profile Description
We’re seeking someone to join our team as Vice President. This position is for a Senior Performance Engineering (PE) specialist within the WM Performance Team, based in India. The role is critical to lead performance engineering efforts across two major product area, Product Tech and Service Tech.
The selected candidate will be responsible for driving the entire PE strategy from India, collaborating closely with application development teams and other stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct performance testing, analyze bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement. A key aspect of this role is to champion Agile and shift-left practices by enabling in-sprint performance testing using modern, developer-friendly tools. The candidate will also be responsible for evaluating, onboarding, and promoting new performance engineering tools such as Blazemeter to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, this position requires mentoring junior engineers and managing consultants to strengthen the team's capabilities, as well as maintaining close alignment with US-based counterparts for knowledge sharing and global consistency.
This senior role is vital for proactively identifying and resolving performance issues, reducing time-to-market, and ensuring high reliability and scalability of WM applications and services. Overall, this resource is essential to sustain and elevate the performance engineering function within WM.
WM_Technology
Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.
Core Platform Services
Core Platform Services is responsible for driving Resiliency, Automation, Performance, Stability, and Efficiency across Wealth Management Technology.
QA Engineering
This is Vice President position that devises test strategies, conducts and/or coordinates tests, and identifies defects to maintain high standards of performance and reliability.

What you’ll do in the role:
Drive end-to-end performance engineering initiatives for large-scale, business-critical applications.
Lead and mentor performance engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Engage directly with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and SREs to architect scalable, efficient, and highly reliable systems.
Oversee the design and execution of sophisticated performance testing strategies, workload models, and realistic production scenarios.
Guide the automation of business transactions and performance validation across diverse platforms.
Champion the use of monitoring and APM tools (Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, Dynatrace) to proactively identify, analyze, and resolve performance issues.
Perform advanced root cause analyses and implement best-in-class corrective/preventive actions.
Bring thought leadership in performance engineering, framework/tool development, and process optimization
Advocate for engineering best practices, performance standards, and innovative approaches to performance challenges.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Minimum 12 years’ progressive experience in performance engineering.
At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
Demonstrated track record of delivering scalable, high-performance solutions in complex environments.
Mastery with automation tools (Load Runner, JMeter) and monitoring platforms (Splunk, Grafana), including advanced query writing (LogQL, PromQL).
Deep expertise in APM tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace) and end-to-end monitoring.
Strong scripting/automation skills in Linux/Unix environments.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C++, Python) highly preferred.
Proven ability to drive innovation, build frameworks, and elevate team capabilities.
Engineering mindset with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Passion for mentoring, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
