We’re seeking someone to join our team as a full Stack Engineer that will be responsible for the UI strategy for Operations Technology but also leading the design, development, and deployment of Operations Central, our web portal for everything UI for Operations. The team has also successfully launched a new AI based chatbot our 10,000+ users can use in their day to day, training their members as well as supporting their clients.

Shared Ops is part of Operations Technology and is a federated ecosystem of tools and services that provide solutions for automating manual execution of business functions, managing exception life cycles, and facilitating collaboration across various groups.

This is a software engineering position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:
- Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project roadmap and technical strategy.
- Implement and advocate for best practices in software engineering and design patterns.
- Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies.
- Lead efforts to refactor and optimize existing codebase for efficiency and maintainability.
- Maintain and enhance existing software applications to optimize performance and functionality.
- Integrate prepackaged software and services into the bank's technology ecosystem.
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to development and maintenance of our Web portal.
- Contribute to the support of our UI monorepo.
- Development of the chatbot’s user interface, backend rest services
- Setup and support the infrastructure for the chatbot.
- Implement automated tests for features implemented.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Excellent track record on delivering web-based UI applications/frameworks.
- Strong communication skills
- Experience on HTML5, Angular 6+, node.js
- Experience in JavaScript (Typescript) and related patterns.
- Experience with REST services.
- UI automated testing frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, etc.
- Web servers (Tomcat, Apache), security(authentication/authorization),
- Understanding of object-oriented analysis, design and programming and design patterns.
- Experience in iterative/agile development practices
Skill Desired:
- Experience in building out reusable widgets within any UI framework (web based, JavaScript/Angular or .Net)
- Some experience with Databases (Postgres, Db2, Sybase or SQL Server)
- Knowledge/experience working on multithreaded systems.
- Experience with full stack development - backend java service development a plus.
- Prior experience in investment banking
