The NFR Data & Analytics team is looking for an experienced professional to lead our data-centric design activities within the Non-Financial Risk domain. With a professional background in financial services, technology or consulting, you will be passionate about designing data-driven solutions to enable change within complex and dynamic businesses.

A key part of our remit is to deliver a new NFR data strategy based on data-centricity and semantic technologies. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading group of data and analytics professionals who partner with stakeholders across the organization to enable next-generation capabilities. You will be able to learn from subject matter experts and build your skills by working with taxonomists, ontologists, data scientists and our Technology partners to deliver industry-leading solutions. Your work will directly enable capabilities such as recommendation engines and question/answering capabilities leveraging GenAI.

Department Profile

In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm’s management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk.

The Non-Financial Risk (“NFR”) Department forms the second line of defense for management of the firm’s non-financial risks, which include Financial Crimes, market manipulation or abuse and Operational risk.

NFR Data & Analytics is a function in the Legal and Compliance Division responsible for designing and optimizing surveillance models, approaches and tools using advanced analytical techniques like supervised and unsupervised machine learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and evolving techniques like graph analytics. The surveillances and other tools help identify suspicious and/or illegal behaviors like money laundering, market manipulation, insider trading, unfair sales or trading practices and other financial crimes.

What you'll do in the role:
- Advise business partners on data-centric approaches, including optimizing their requirements and user experiences from a data perspective
- Lead business analysis activities across the team including the design and development of data models using data-centric methodologies
- Drive adoption of categorical data capabilities across the NFR ecosystem
- Develop new analytical capabilities in partnership with colleagues from Technology and Data-Science teams
- Manage projects to implement various capabilities such as search utilities, question and answering and recommendation engines.

What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of related experience in a corporation, government body or relevant organization
- Analytical mindset with ability to think critically about appropriate solutions to business problems
- Demonstrable experience in the use of data-led approaches to solving business problems
- Analysis of business requirements and subsequent development of data strategies and solutions to address

Skills that will help you in the role:
- Experience of data design methodologies and techniques
- Practical experience of semantic technologies including taxonomy and ontology development, RDF/OWL concepts, Knowledge Graphs and semantic search engines.
- SQL, SPARQL, Python Experience
- Experience in technology application design
- Agile development experience
- Direct experience in operational risk management or related risk domains
