Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (WM) Operational Risk:

The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Operational Risk group is responsible for overseeing the operational risk and control framework across the Wealth Management business. This team partners with key stakeholders throughout the organization to execute independent risk monitoring functions, support process and control improvement, provide tactical and strategic reporting, execute incident management protocols, facilitate issue and action plan management and coordinate new operational risk programs in partnership with the business as well as Firm Operational Risk Management.

Role Description

Morgan Stanley is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join the Wealth Management Business Resilience team in our Budapest office, supporting the firm's global operational risk and resilience framework. As part of an expanding team, this individual will play a key role in identifying business stability risks, supporting scenario testing, and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to enhance continuity and recovery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to gain exposure to operational resilience across critical financial services platforms while contributing to a high impact global risk function.

This role will help execute the vision for achieving an appropriately resilient business. This individual will build strong relationships with business partners, technology owners, operations teams, and suppliers. They will partner with relevant teams to ensure compliance with Firm requirements and standards and enhance the Wealth Management specific framework. They will assist with efforts to ensure stability risks to critical business functions are documented and mitigated. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong risk management judgment and expertise working with critical infrastructure and systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners across the Firm.

  • Support identification, socialization, and tracking of technology and business stability risks.

  • Assist in the analysis of infrastructure and operational outages; help assess potential business impact

  • Document and interpret resilience test scenarios and results, both technical and business focused.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that resilience priorities are addressed and incorporated into plans.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Firm's business resilience strategy and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Skills and Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in operational risk, business continuity or technology risk, preferably within wealth management, banking or brokerage environments

  • Ability to thrive in a global, fast-paced, and matrixed organization

  • Familiarity with financial services technologies and infrastructure

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to assess risks and identify controls

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across regions

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven mindset

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
