Job Description
We are looking to hire an individual with a keen understanding of existing operational protocol and risk management with an opportunity to learn, or expand upon, their knowledge of specific rules within primary issuance, and internal technological infrastructure, whilst being able to build a direct operational, and relationship, network within wider GMO teams, as well as with the front office - EMEA ECM banking, syndicate trading, sales teams and other syndicate banks.
Responsibilities:
- Operations support for the EMEA Capital Markets desk
- Booking and amending trades as required whilst completing tasks with a high level of precision and accuracy
- Ensuring that all key operational reconciliations are actioned on time and escalated as necessary within the team and business as required.
- Able to successfully support the distribution and monitoring of the balance sheet risk that is carried on syndicated deals, liaising closely with desk to highlight issues in a timely manner.
- Performing the necessary reconciliations required in the book-build process with other external syndicate members, providing the OPs support to the trading desk and sales in finalising the book, prior to go live.
- Processing the closing payments to issuers and tracking associated fee transfers to other syndicate members in a timely manner.
- Tracking failing deals, engaging with Settlement teams, and supporting any client specific escalations to ensure final settlement.
Skills:
- A track record of supporting Equity and Debt products and delivering operational support for a top tier financial institution.
- Excellent communications skills and ability to present to an audience
- Ability to work under pressure in a team environment
- Ability to liaise with all levels of the firm and people with different experiences and backgrounds
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. Candidate will be able to manage own time and know when to escalate
- Maintain focus on a robust control environment, mitigate operational and reputation risks faced in the execution of standard flow business and ensure the successful integration of new business opportunities.
- Establishment and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders across the product including Trading desks, Operations, Technology and Finance across all regions.
- Develop and manage relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders, understanding their individual requirements whilst managing expectations on a day-to-day basis.
- Actively support any business or product objectives, ensuring the team is focussed on delivering cost efficient and effective processes.
