Your Impact

The Regional Lending Advisor (RLA), Vice President is a client‑facing lending specialist responsible for driving lending growth and delivering sophisticated credit solutions to Ultra‑High‑Net‑Worth (UHNW) clients. The RLA partners closely with Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) and internal underwriting teams to originate, structure, and manage tailored lending opportunities that align with the client’s overall wealth management objectives.

This Vice President plays a critical role in regional lending strategy—serving as a credit thought‑partner, first‑line control, relationship builder, and execution expert for the Private Bank’s lending platform.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Advisor Partnership

  • Establish and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with PWAs to drive regional lending activity.
  • Join prospect and client meetings to assess borrowing needs, educate clients on the Private Bank’s lending capabilities, and raise awareness of available solutions.
  • Advise clients and advisors on tailored lending strategies across a broad spectrum of asset classes—including securities‑based lending, structured credit, commercial and residential real estate, and specialty asset–backed lending.

Origination & Credit Structuring

  • Identify, evaluate, and execute new lending opportunities that align with client objectives and the Firm’s credit framework.
  • Serve as the first layer of control by pre‑screening lending requests, ensuring feasibility, and structuring creative proposals that meet both client and risk appetite requirements.
  • Partner with U.S. Underwriting on credit memo preparation, transaction submission, and ongoing portfolio management.

Risk & Portfolio Management

  • Take proactive ownership of accounts showing early signs of risk, navigating solutions for initial default situations and at‑risk exposures.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to credit policies, control procedures, KYC/AML considerations, and all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • 7 plus years of UHNW lending origination and credit analysis experience within private banking or commercial banking.
  • Deep expertise in lending against commercial real estate, marketable securities, alternative assets, and other privately owned assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure sophisticated, tailored lending solutions and advise clients on complex financing needs.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound credit judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear recommendations.
  • Highly collaborative, thriving in team‑based environments across coverage, underwriting, risk, and operations.
  • Series 7, 63 and SEI required or must be obtained within 4 months of joining

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • A strong pipeline of well‑structured opportunities aligned with regional and Firm‑wide growth goals.
  • Trusted advisor status among PWAs and senior leadership.
  • Meticulous credit judgment and strong collaboration with underwriting and risk partners.
  • Consistent delivery of exceptional client experience from origination through servicing.
  • Effective identification and mitigation of emerging risks within the regional portfolio.
